Grand Tour

Grand Tour Privacy Policy
This policy explains how the Chrome extension "Grand Tour" (the "Extension") handles user information.
1. Information the Extension accesses
The Extension reads the following information inside your browser:
- Browsing history: the history stored by Chrome (page URLs, titles, visit times and transition types), via the
historypermission. - Site icons: the site icons (favicons) cached by Chrome, via the
faviconpermission.
2. How the information is used
This information is used solely to:
- display your browsing history on a timeline;
- show the share of visits per site as a chart;
- replay your browsing history as an animation;
- export the replay as a video file; and
- create a summary image of your browsing (a title describing your habits, most-visited sites and visit shares).
3. Storage and transmission
- All processing happens locally in your browser. Your browsing history and site icons are never sent to the developer or to any third-party server.
- The Extension does not keep its own copy of your history. It reads Chrome's history each time you open it and discards it when you close the page.
- The only exception is the list of site names (domains) you choose to hide from summaries and videos. It is stored on your device (in the browser's localStorage) so the same choice applies next time. This list is never sent anywhere and is deleted when you remove the Extension.
- The Extension uses no analytics, no advertising, and no external scripts or services.
4. Summary images, videos and sharing
Summary images and videos are generated on your device. They do not include page titles, but they do include site names, visit counts, visit times and a title describing your browsing habits. Sites you chose to hide are not included.
The Extension never uploads images or videos on its own. Only when you press the share button, it does one of the following:
- opens your operating system's share menu and passes the image or video, together with a short post text, to the app you choose; or
- where the share menu is not available, copies the image to your clipboard or saves the video, then opens the X (formerly Twitter) post page in a new tab. The post text (the date range, the title and a hashtag) is sent to X to prefill the post. The image or video itself is not sent, and you decide whether to post.
Shared content is handled according to the policies of the service you share to. Please review the content before sharing it.
5. Sharing with third parties
Because the Extension does not collect your information, it never sells, transfers or shares it with third parties, and never uses it for personalized advertising, creditworthiness or lending purposes, or for data brokers.
6. Chrome Web Store User Data Policy
The use of information received by the Extension adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
7. Your choices
Removing the Extension immediately stops its access to your browsing history and deletes the list of hidden sites stored on your device. You can also unhide a site at any time by pressing it again in the summary or video dialog. Your history itself is stored by Chrome; to delete it, use Chrome's history page (chrome://history).
8. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the update will be posted on this page and the last updated date will be revised.
